Traditionally, it was a machined product, but by switching to the MIM (Metal Injection Molding) manufacturing process, mass production efficiency has improved and lead times have been reduced. Additionally, we have achieved cost reductions by reducing the material weight by nearly 90g. 【Castem's MIM Process】 The "Metal Injection Molding" process is a manufacturing method that creates metal parts of the desired shape by mixing powdered metal with a binder and injecting it into a mold. With a density of over 95% and pores taking on a round, independent shape, it exhibits excellent mechanical strength. The binder debinding process is performed at high speed to minimize the alteration and deformation of the metal powder, allowing for sintering under various conditions such as vacuum, reducing atmosphere, inert atmosphere, and high-pressure atmosphere, tailored to the specific requirements of each metal. 【Features】 ■ Small lot products of fewer than 3,000 pieces are handled with low-cost dedicated molds. ■ Wide compatibility beyond standard metal injection materials. ■ All processes, including precision machining, heat treatment, and plating, are carried out in-house. ■ Quick response to low-cost, short lead times, and design changes. ■ We have a system in place to develop the processes in-house.
